January 2015 10 Day Superhero Challenge

Happy New Year all! It’s January 1, 2015 and I couldn’t wait to share this month’s challenge with you!

3 moves: Dips, Leg lifts and Wall Sits>>>helping to strengthen your entire body! These will work your core, upper and lower body each day you choose to do them, increasing in reps and time.

I am wishing you all a happy & healthy year!! Look for more monthly challenges to come this year from me! Remember what your mind is focused on will show through your actions. Just make moving your body and eating clean foods your goal. Focus on getting better, stronger, longer, leaner and faster and your body will come into it’s own place of balance and happy. Total Body Happy Thanksgiving Workout!


It’s Thanksgiving week!! I am so thankful for so much in my life!! Not because I have it all or have the perfect body or a million dollars. I am just thankful for all that I have and all that I don’t. I am thankful for who I am and where I am right now. I am thankful for all that I have learned and all that I still have to learn, I am thankful for my friends & family. I am thankful to just be alive in this beautiful world and that I have a healthy body so that I can even do this workout or any one for that matter-so I will!! I will eat, I will drink and I will enjoy it!! I hope you do too! Remember being thankful for what you have currently will lead to more happiness and more thankfulness down the road!! It’s a lovely cycle that can only start with gratitude! Do this workout anytime this week or several times this week 🙂 !!

1. Plank jack to push up x 10

(start with a plank jack, go down to push up and repeat for 10)

2. Bicep curls x 15 with DB

3. KB swings x 20

4. Overhead triceps ext with KB x 15

5. Thumbs up lateral shoulder raises with DB x 10

6. Squat jumps x 10

7. Squat to shoulder press with DB x 10

8. Front shoulder raise with DB x 10

9. Pike sit ups x 30

Run 3 track laps or 1/2 mile as fast as you can (outside or on treadmill)

***Rest 45 sec in between each exercise/Repeat for 2 to 3 total rounds in 30 to 45 min.

***If you are using light weights you can feel free to do more reps and if you are using heavier weights then you can do less reps and if you are using the “just right weights” then you can do what I said. 🙂

This is why I exercise!

Hi friends!

Let’s make January all about moving our bodies just to fight off the blues, just to bring some happy & positive energy, just because exercising is a great anti-depressant!

If I could I would probably join a support group for all of my so-called “problems”, things that seem to bring a level of stress into my life, wouldn’t you? We all have stress no matter how zen la la we try to be. I try to and most of the time I am but let’s be real…life is stressful, life doesn’t always go according to plan. So why not do something totally free like moving your body to fight off the evil, the struggles, the disappointments, the wrong doers and the plain old negativity in life?

Instead of a mommy support group I walk.

Instead of a 50/50 shared custody support group I run.

Instead of a divorce support group I lift weights.

These are the things that stress me out! Am I a good mom? Am I doing the right things? Is my son going to be ok? Am I ok? Am I crazy? You know…..the usual questions that I know you are wondering too! Ha! (Either about me or about yourself) Ha! Ha!

I just took 5 days off of exercise over Christmas and well let’s just say it wasn’t so jolly for my mind! I am happier when I move my body! I got to the gym Monday finally and already my mind is less stressed. Mentally, I am all better!

Do you want to know the best part?

You can exercise at home, you can work out while you are away on vacation, anywhere or anytime. In the middle of the day at work, with your kids, with your hubby, with your friends…..you get it. Exercising of all kinds releases endorphins-the same “happy” that taking “happy pills” does for you. So get moving and you will feel great! You don’t need any equipment. You just need you.

I urge you to just start exercising to be happy, to not worry, to calm down and to feel good.
